About

After a year long programming course, I have recently qualified as a full-stack engineer. I am based in Nottingham and excited to start my new role! I have decided to embark upon a career in coding because I am looking for a new challenge! I'd like to be apart of the ever evolving world of tech and love to constantly learn new things.

I am a self motivated individual who is looking to further my career in software/web development. During my training with IT Career Switch, I have completed two real-world projects to spec. I have demonstrated the use of various front and back end programming languages. I have excellent communication skills and work well in a team!

Professional Experience

Full-Stack engineer trainee

2023 - 2023

During my year of training, I completed to real world projects.

Project 1: Gazetteer.
I designed a geolocations app. The practicality of this app was to fetch relevant information from various REST API's and to overlay this on a map using leaflet. My app included weather information, currency exchange, airport information, country demographics and earthquake history.
I utilised HTML/CSS/JavaScript along with jQuery and Bootstrap libraries for the front end. I used PHP routines and jQuery AJAX to process and handle calls to my chosen APIs and requests.
As well as collecting data from REST API's, I used Geojson data to highlight the country borders.
Project 2: Company Directory
This web application consisted of CRUD functionality (create,read,update and delete). The interface allowed the manipulation of employee information that was held in a database. The directory allowed for searching and filtering employee information by location or department and functionality on adding, editing and deleting employee information. The data was retrieved through backend requests and displayed in the front end for the user.
I used HTML/CSS/Javascript along with jQuery and Bootstrap libraries for the front end. I used PHP routines to handle requests for the backend.
I used MySQL to manage data in a relational database management system (RDBMS).
